PRP
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Injection
Harnessing your body’s natural ability to heal
PRP is a medical technique that uses your own blood to stimulate tissue regeneration. A small amount of blood is drawn, then processed to concentrate the platelets and the growth factors they contain. This concentrate is then injected directly into the area being treated to support the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
At Clinique Santé Première Ligne, PRP injections are performed by our orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Louis-Davos Raymond and Dr. Razmig Barbarian (starting October 26, 2026), under ultrasound guidance for optimal precision.
What conditions can it help?
PRP may be considered for several musculoskeletal conditions, including knee or hip osteoarthritis, tendinopathies (tennis elbow, Achilles tendon, rotator cuff), plantar fasciitis, and certain ligament or muscle injuries. The orthopedic surgeon will assess with you whether this treatment is appropriate for your situation.
The benefits of PRP
Because the treatment comes from your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction or rejection is very low. The procedure is minimally invasive, done right at the clinic, and generally allows you to return to your activities quickly. PRP aims to reduce pain, improve function and promote the repair of damaged tissue, which can make it a worthwhile option before considering surgery or when other treatments have not given the hoped-for results. Effects appear gradually, often over a few weeks, and response varies from person to person.

Arthrex ACP® PRP
A small amount of blood is drawn, then processed in a closed system to collect the portion rich in platelets and growth factors. This preparation is then injected into the targeted area to support the body’s natural repair mechanisms.

ACP Max™ PRP
Our most concentrated option. The ACP Max™ system can process 30, 60 or 90 mL of blood and can produce a platelet concentration of up to about 12 times that of the original blood, depending on the volume processed. The resulting PRP is injected into the targeted area to support tissue repair.
